Galen and I have our new black metal mixtape out now. Get at us for a copy. They're free, good.

It's weird, gross to think that people treat news the way they treat clogs, horn-rimmed glasses, fashion. It's not really fashionable to talk about the oil spill anymore, but I don't consider it going out on a limb to say there are some major issues there that still need to be dealt with. Meaning to say, look at this.

It's really gross - almost to the point of humor but not really at all - but like anything else, it's gone out of fashion. That's dumb to think about.
Sometimes life is full of hard decisions.

What a load of crap.

First, if I'm wanting to read Freedom I have to do it in the privacy of my own apartment because of all the conversation that book would start. And the Corrections was good enough, so I imagine Freedom is pretty dope, but I'm not trying to be that guy on the train. And then he goes and recommends Mrs. Bridge. So my good friend, Evan told me to read this the other week. He was recommended it by some girl. Franzen never, to my knowledge, entered the equation. It's bad enough that the copy I purchased is the same in this photo, the awful awful embarrassingly awful movie version, but now people are going to see it and associate it as some Franzen/Oprah biter. Maybe not, probably not. Book is pretty dope.
Not really PC, but try not to laugh:

Remember when this was a common site?

Oh wait, it still is. Ware is third in the sack column right now. And their defense is actually one of the best. And their offense, actually, isn't that bad. My friend, Adam, said something that wasn't all that groundbreaking but was comforting nonetheless. Said, "sometimes you just lose games because the ball bounces weird. and sometimes it bounces weird four out of five games. teams win for the same reason." However, he followed it up with, "Of course, sometimes you lose games because your offensive line is a joke and your egotistical offensive coordinator refuses to change his game plan in order to suit his personnel. There are positives (Roy Williams, Dez Bryant, etc) but the only stat column that matters is the W/L. It's going to be a long season.
We've been working really hard around these parts lately.
I remember my family went to the Meijer's once around third grade. We went more than once obviously, it's a really cool store, but that one time they were promoting Blue Chips for some unknown reason. I got a free XL Blue Chips t-shirt. Back then, it seemed all the free shirts came in size L or XL. It came down to my kneecaps, but I think that was fashionable back then. Maybe. The movie had a pretty big impact on me. It featured many of the heroes of the day. There was also the movie Rudy. That was good. And Hoosiers.
I watched all these movies before I really, really understood the nature of films/tv/that business. Lately when I watch something, I understand the people on screen as actors. I know that someone is adjusting the light, calling 'cut', etc etc. It is a charade. Friday Night Lights has completely changed this. FNL is the first show in a long, long time where I actually don't consider the people as actors. I know Coach Taylor was in Early Edition, but I can't
see it. Grace and I watched the entire first season before we actually talked about the business or whatever of the show. We talked about Tyra, Saracen, what a great couple Tami and Eric Taylor are. After the first season ended, I found myself in a little bit of a funk. It is a pretty taxing show to watch. And there are small things they do right, the bags under Tyra's eyes. The role of Applebee's. Saracen's grandmother. The simple admission of understanding the characters slyly make about their roles in the show. Buddy Garrity. Etc etc

Have you guys heard about ink refill kits? Look into 'em.
